2025 Flushing Schedule

Questions/Concerns: Call (203) 847-7387 Option 1

As part of our commitment to maintain high-quality water and service to customers, we will begin the annual hydrant flushing and valve exercising program on April 21, 2025. Hydrants will be systematically opened to clean out water mains that provide water to your home or business. Locations, are listed below.

Most work will be done Monday through Friday between 9:00 A.M. and 3:30 P.M., but some flushing will also occur on Saturdays between 9:00 A.M. and 3:30 P.M.

All water line flushing will cause some temporary discoloration of water in the vicinity of hydrants being flushed. This discoloration is caused by the disturbance of naturally occurring minerals (iron and manganese) that have settled in the water mains. The water does not pose a health risk. However, to prepare for discoloration, we advise customers to store tap water in the refrigerator for drinking and cooking until the water clears up. Customers should also check the condition of the water prior to washing clothes or dishes.

Please be aware that flushing may also affect water delivered to customers adjacent to the listed areas.
