Environmental Policy

Envisioning our commitment to a clean environment and pure water.

The FDWD works regionally, in conjunction with other water providers and public and private agencies, to protect and maintain water source areas, waterways, watershed and aquifer areas, and wetlands.

We are charged with patrolling and inspecting our land holdings and water sources for any sign of contamination—organic and inorganic.

In addition, we take an interest in new building and development, and provide input regarding environmental impact and water use issues related to these projects and will oppose any that present a threat to our land holdings and water systems and with our objective of sustainable development.

We strive for minimal environmental impact in our water containment, retrieval, pumping, processing and delivery systems.

Protecting Our Water
In addition to working closely with local, state and federal authorities to ensure that the water we provide customers meets federal and state safety standards, we also take a public interest in the development of land in our water supply region. When necessary we take an active stance against inappropriate development to insure our land and water is protected.

When it comes to complying with strict regulations for delivering clean, quality drinking water, we’ve consistently achieved high ranking.
